10:30am: Kirtan with Johanna Beekman & friends (dance warm-up)
11am–12:30pm: Main dance set with Baron von Spirit
12:30pm: Singing Bowl Meditation with Johanna Beekman

Come “sweat your prayers” with us! Ecstatic Dance is a journey of self-discovery through music & movement for exercise, stress release, emotional expression, and celebration of life. There are no moves to learn–just dance however it feels good to you. It’s freeform dance to a varied mix of organic and electronic beats in a warm, playful, inclusive community. The journey will open with flowing music to warm-up the body, steadily pick up in tempo & intensity to reach peaks of ecstasy, and gently land into meditative, heart-chakra stillness. (Note: There will be some powerful bass at moments through the premium sound system, but we won’t get into trance or rave music.)

Resident DJ Baron von Spirit settled in Corvallis with the intention of helping develop a local Ecstatic Dance community. He’s a DJ, Music Remixer, and Event Producer in service of conscious movement, drawing on his own 15+ year practice of ecstatic dance, Soul Motion, 5Rthythms, and contact improvisation for inspiration. In recent years, he’s been resident DJ for Ecstatic Dances in Oakland, Fairfax, and Palo Alto, as well as producer of Dance Immersion retreats at Breitenbush Hot Springs.
